site was indeed a personal web site I have made for my colleague
Andrée-Claude at work for her to post her
itinerary
during her trip so her family and friends can track her down and
can communicate with her.
Briefly the "itinerary" section is connected to a data base with
a password that A.C. can remotely access to a back-end form to
fill out her comments. I was so amused and surprised that
almost every where she went she was be able to access to the
internet to update her itinerary. Her family and her friends can
communicate with her via the "journal" section by posting their
comments there. I usually pinned a number on the "map" (cartes)
section where she was staying and link out to other sites
related to her position since unfortunately A.C. didn't have a
digital camera to send me her picture on spot. Some of the
pictures I posted on her "detailed journal" (journal détaillé)
have been taken by her friends she met, and some of them came
back to their countries while she still continues her trip. They
send her their pictures and I posted on her journal.
Last but not least, A.C. has
access to her "secret" secure section where I stored all her
documents like the digital copies of her Passport, Medical
Insurance, Airline Ticket Voucher which really help her out when
her wallet has been stolen in Thaïland almost at the end of her
trip.
I never taught that this site one
day becomes useful so I decide to conserve it after my colleague
came back and since the site is originally in French, I now
decide that it will be in your best interest that I will be
translating it to English. This will be done in the next few
weeks when I have more extra time. At this moment, you can use
Google language tools
for the translation as an alternative and I'm sorry for that
inconvenience. I will be also posting all A.C. pictures taken
in Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos and Thaïland in 4 different Flash
Galleries.
