Fond Memories from Rio

One day before I left I have the impression that Rio is like my home town and I was completely relaxed. The first 2 days when I arrived back to Canada, I felt that I was still in Rio. My friend waked me up the second night and it took me at less half of a minute before I can adjust myself for the conversation. That really confused her too. Ahhh Rio, you are always on my mind.

Nice country, nice people. A place that I probably come back in the future. It is not an unsafe place to visit as described in several forums. Brazil is a country with warm people, warm weather and wonderful landscapes.

Top remarks from Rio:

One thing that impresses me most is  that the Sambodrome can hold 83,000 people during the Carnival but is maintained squeaky clean all year being constantly monitored.

I have to give 10/10 to the security people who work in the Sambadrome.

Another 10/10 to the city workers in uniforms who clean the streets. Keeping the streets spic and span is their mandate and they do that night and day, rain or sun.  Absolutely.  Even at the wee hours of 2 in the morning it is a constant vigil.  Hats off to you guys !

Things wanted to know:

I will be glad if someone can tell me the meaning of showing thumbs up in Brazil. I saw it everywhere when a driver yields to another one, even in the DVD I bought, Valeria Valenssa teaching how to dance Samba, she showed her thumbs up in one of the frame.

Comments:

Thumbs up in Brazil means that everything is fine...all right..ok..isn't it the same in other parts of the world? Well..I guess that us being "happy" people..we should use it more often. Nice that you liked my country.
Cheers!
