Foods & Restaurants

My favourite restaurants are the buffets, you pick your foods from its extensive array of salads, sushi, soups, vegetables, various meat dishes, pastas, soufflés.   The one that have the most varieties to choose from is  Kilograma. You pick your foods and come to a counter and weigh your dish. For the drink you order from your waiter or waitress. You can also order just a bottle of mineral water and if you prefer without ice tell your waitress without ice or 'sin gas' without being carbonated (sparkling).

At Kilograma they come to your table with sizzling assortments of churrascurias/charcoal broiled rodizio style meats, just ask them to cut for you the one you prefer. The dessert menu is extra but has extensive variety. Meals in Rio are not expensive and are very good. You pay your meals at the counter and give the tab of your paid bill to the girl who gave you the empty order note when you enter the restaurant. Before my trip I was worried about what to eat in Rio because I have a very sensitive stomach, I even had prescriptions from my family doctor for anti-diarretic situations etc... but my big surprise was that I did not get any trouble at all for my entire trip. I started to taste everything from day one because the food are so tasty.  This is contrary to what I will do in Montreal at home when I stay away from a lot of meals following the strict regimen my doctor gave me. I made an exception for 2 weeks and I'll see what the results are gonna be later back home.  Whatever, I had a blast enjoying the foods and the aroma of the steaks.

There are a lot of juice bars in Rio de Janeiro. It seem that Rio's guys and girls like it very much.

Every morning I came to different places like this for a croissant and cappuccino. Some place you just stand-up at the counter and have your breakfast.

At this food court in one shopping center in Botafogo instead of choosing to seat inside the restaurant I chose to seat in front of it. I accidentally dropped my money bundle on the floor and the girl who stand at the front of the restaurant to check in and out customers saw it. She came and picked it and handed it to me. Like in everywhere there are always good people so don't be confused with negative publicity on Rio. Indeed to acknowledge the girl's honesty I split her a part of my bundle unhesitatingly.
