Make friends

It quite easy to make friends when you are traveling. Starting from my home town airport in Montreal,  I met a lady from Chicago who came to Montreal for a funeral and another lady who is bound for Chile. From New York to São Paulo the plane was full except the seat seat beside me (I'm always seating near the window). During the flight one American Brazilian came and ask me if he can sit beside me because he is traveling with his wife and their few months born kid. His name is Renaldo. I had him as neighbor until São Paulo.

Bruno, me and Luciano

Bruno is the one who come to pick me up at the airport, he is referred from David the one I rented the apartment from. I found David services by browsing the internet. Bruno is very nice and helpful. If you happen to come to Rio and need someone to pick you up at the airport at less cost and for your peace of mind I can strongly recommend you Bruno. He is very punctual. Edna, David's sister is also nice. The two door men of my apartment condo building were also nice.

The first day when I walked on the beach, very early in the morning, just minutes after the sun rose I had met a Brazilian couple from São Paulo and they were already in the ocean shore that early. I have a picture taken with them as well.

In Rio I make friends with Sergio a New Yorker who stayed above me in our apartment building. Many couples also on the top floor, who are Serge's neighbor are very nice.

Eddie the Brazilian fellow from New York who works in the Internet store is also very helpful and nice.

The 2 American ladies who seated beside me in the Sambodrome are dynamic and nice to talk with.

The 2 sand sculptors along the Copacabana also became instant  friends.

At Corcovado I met Andreas from Sweden who came there for taking pictures.

Also the girl I met at the Corcovado souvenir shop was charming and the 2 girls (Mary & ViVi) who invited me for a beer in Ipanema beach were also nice.

At Sugar Loaf I shared the helicopter ride with a Russian couple.

from R to L:
Serge, a US-based acquaintance who occupied the flat on top of mine (12th floor), Luciano the door man and myself.

On my way back from São Paulo to New York, my neighbor was also nice and helpful by telling me all the immigration process to have a speedy check out.

Beside all the people I named above, everywhere I went there were a lot of people who were so helpful for example the security lady at JFK airport who gave me priority for immigration check out.

If you are one of the people I have met and for some reason we didn’t exchange our e-mail but you got my card, I wish to touch base with you. Please use the contact link to write to me and I will be very glad to hear from you.
