The Montreal Divers/Cite (Gay Pride) Parade

August 1st, 2004

It is no longer just a parade for the gay community. The Montreal Divers/Cite Pride Week becomes not only a celebration of gay causes, but a melting pot of various sexualities, be it gay, bi-sexual, metro or hetero sexual and other whatchamacallits. "People just wanna have fun" as Madonna puts it. The people in attendance will witness spectacular outpouring of emotions, the "let it out" type that have been hibernating from the hearts and minds of those who are supposedly in the closet.  "It's time to call it a day, let's celebrate" will be the maxims of all joining the parade. It is the power of love that gives buoyancy to this kind of festivities. If there are people power, flower power, the power that be in this celebration are the people who simply want to show that LOVE is the tie that binds. The minute of silence is slated at 1:30 p.m.

• At first we originally would like to present to you, VT's members some highlights of local activities but we never expected as well the degree of enthusiasm and affections that gave us. If your interview is not included in this following video clip or if we just presented a small portion of it,  is because of our lack of space hosted on our server.  Anyhow to recognize your willing participation in our interview, if you were one of the interviewees and would like to receive your complete footage, do not hesitate to contact me and I will send you by surface mail your footage DVD disc.  Please note that only the footage which shows your participation will be sent.

Hope you enjoy!

• Special thanks to Myriam Crépeau et Nicolas-Philippe Fournier.
