Montreal Ukrainian Festival

September 11th, 2004

The annual Montreal Ukrainian Festival this year is running strong and growing on its 5th edition. It was held at Parc de l' Ukraine (rue De L' Ukraine and 12th Avenue). Ukrainian entertainers as usual gave live performances on stage from 10:00 am until 6:00 pm. The Ukrainian Market Place is ever present and serves as the melting pot of all savoir faire from the arts, crafts, music and souvenirs. For the food connoisseurs there were Ukrainian Food Concessions and picnic area. You can sample the delicacies and drinks at the Belle Gueule Kazak Beer Garden & Hutsulka Bar.

The Ukrainian heritage is the selling point of this festival and Montrealers should take this opportunity to learn and sample the culture. It has attracted over 7,500 attendees according to the organizers.

It is a regret that I cannot cover the show in its entirety. There are beholding sights that would have been covered fully but due to ease in downloading an edited cut or a skipped event would be sufficient. I do not like to flash just insignificant parts of an event's recorded material. It may not create the same impact. The video that is presented here attempts to cover as much as I could.

Special thanks to:

Hope you enjoy the clip.

I meet with René and two of his friend Fran and Chris at the festival. Indeed he was the one who posted a meeting in the Montreal forum. Thanks René for the hint and nice meeting you guys.
